Academic Lecture: A history of political satire

This week’s Academic Lecture was ‘A History of Satire: Politics Lampooned’ by Mr Jennings.

We delved into the history of satire: from Geoffrey Chaucer and Jonathan Swift to modern satirists like Ian Hislop. Mr Jennings also posed the question of whether satire is as searing as it was when the likes of Jonathan Swift’s ‘A Modest Proposal’ was written.
