Academic Lectures this Term!

After a brilliant selection of lectures in the first half of term, we have continued to be treated during the second half of term. We have had a wide range of topics from students, staff, and external speakers.

GCSE historian Florence gave a personal and moving presentation on the Holocaust in November, and Head of History and Politics spoke about the Queen of Sheba, which provoked some great questions from the audience. Everyone in the audience of Deputy Head Mrs Wright’s lecture on Human Evolution learnt something new, whilst Mr Milton gave us an insight into 1920s American history. Deputy Head Dr Roberts gave a highly engaging lecture on an unusual topic, the History of Fonts! The final lecture of the term was given by Upper Sixth student Sam, who gave a wonderful talk about his personal experience of Living with Diabetes.

Thank you to everyone who gave an Academic Lecture this term, they were great opportunities to learn more about a diverse range of topics. We are looking forward to what subjects we will be delving into in next term’s Academic Lecture series!
