Co-curricular Report

Netball

Both the UI9s and U12s faced The Grange School in the second round of the National Cup.  The Lancaster’s lost out on this occasion, but learnt from the experience. The U19s won 43-29; and now face Solihull School in the next round. 

On Wednesday, the U19s continued to put their skills on show, winning every match in the County Tournament to become County Champions! They now look forward to the Regional Finals.

Hockey

The Girls U18s beat Shrewsbury 7-3 in a warm up game before their Midlands qualifier. Wins over Abbotsholme and King Edward’s Birmingham booked their place at the Midland’s finals this coming Friday.  

The Boys U13 team played their first game of the season in a very exciting game against Madeley High, but came up short this time losing 1-0.

On Saturday, the Girls played a block against Oswestry and won every game, particular highlights being 11-1 and 11-0 wins for the U12s and U13s. 

Rugby

After a tough Wednesday, where the seniors exited the national cup, all years responded for the local derby against Haberdashers Adams’. In tremendous style, a second year clean sweep is a fabulous achievement at 1st team, U16s, 15s and 14 level.

The result of the weekend remains the U14 team overcoming a heavy cup exit last year. Mr Mathias writes – “a Heroic defence and a monumental team effort saw the U14s beat last year’s county champions 19 – 17 in an epic clash”.

Swimming

Beth competed at the West Midland Short course champs at the new Sandwell Pool, (where the commonwealth games were held), Beth qualified and swam in multiple events.  Her best swim was in the 200m front crawl, where she achieved a 5 second PB and qualified for the final where she finished 4th.

Football

 the U15s had an impressive 5-2 win over High Clare School, in the second round of the ESFA Cup. Josh scored a hat-trick.

Golf

On Wednesday, the golf team had an outstanding 2-1 win over Ellesmere College. We  will now play repton or worksop in the next round. Well done to Zach, Izzy and Jack. 

Basketball

The basketball team recorded a brilliant win against rugby school on Saturday, winning 42-17. They are in action again this Thursday.

Badminton

The U16 mixed badminton squad had their first game of the season, losing out to a strong Thomas Telford team.
