Drama

Sister Act got off to a superb start last week!

Rehearsals took place on on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. There is a fantastic vibe in rehearsals and the cast have formed a strong and cohesive group as they tackle singing, dancing, acting and American accents. A Special shout out to Hattie, Carolina, Olivia, Izzie and Millie for an outstanding rehearsal on Thursday.

Meanwhile, things are already moving into action backstage. The Tech Team attended a training session on the new sound and lighting equipment in the theatre, and are already plotting how best to utilise these new assets. A crack team of Lancasters and Sixth Formers have also been assembled to work on set and prop design and mood boards have already been created, ready for the next step. A big well done to all cast and crew involved.

Rugby

A 100% result week for rugby!

The U14s had a good 22 – 7 win against KES Aston. Some notable performances from Otto, Ollie and Eric. The U15s put on a stellar performance, winning 31-15 in a hard fought game. Torrin ran in three trys. An outstanding squad performance.

However, the crowning result was the National Vase win over Loughborough Grammar. With what felt like half the school out supporting, a hat trick from Toby, combined with some top goal kicking, kept the seniors in the ascendancy. A tight finish, with a 34-31 win was a classy result.

Netball

On Thursday, the 1st team took on a strong Oldham Hulme Grammar in the National Cup. After a thrilling hour match, the teams were level on 41 goals all. Extra time could still not produce a winner, but Wrekin held their nerve to take the match by scoring the Golden Goal, 49-48! Well done to everyone involved in such an exciting match!

Hockey

Girls hockey started their season with a block against Morton Hall. The U15s won with a convincing 5-1 victory and the new Year 7s showed promise with a convincing 3-0 win.

The Boys first team played in the schools first ever England Hockey League match, coming up against a very strong Market Drayton Mens 1st team. The boys lost out on this occasion but showed a lot of promise for the future.

Football

The 1st XI have had a busy week with two fixtures.

On Wednesday, they lost 2-1 in a competitive game and were unlucky not to score more. On Saturday, a good 2-2 result against RGS Worcester playing the better football from both sides.
