History Trip to the Battlefields

Some of our history pupils have been on a fantastic trip to The Vimy Ridge Memorial, which is where part of the Battle of Arras happened in the Pas-de-Calais department of France, during the First World War.

This is a stunning piece of architecture that dominates the landscape for miles around!

Whilst on the trip, one of our pupils, Tom, laid a wreath on the grave of his great-great grandfather, Alfred Clarkson, who was killed in action on the Somme in 1916.
