IAPS Swimming National Finalists!

Our Year 5 and 6 swimming teams travelled to Shrewsbury School in March to compete in the National IAPS Swimming Qualifiers. This is an event that is hosted all over the country with over 4,500 swimmers registered this year! Times from all the qualifiers around the country are collated and the top 20 swimmers (or teams for the relays) are selected for the finals hosted at Olympic Park, London on June 3rd.

We are so proud of all the swimmers that took part this year; we had a number of swimmers that just missed out on selection for individual events including Esmay who came 23rd and Sebbie in 24th place. We did however have Adam qualify in Butterfly, ranking 9th overall, and Leo qualifying in backstroke ranking 2nd overall!

For the first time in the history of the school, we have also had two relay teams qualify; the Year 6 Boys’ freestyle relay team and Year 5 boys’ medley relay team!

This is a truly fabulous achievement for all the swimmers involved who will be representing Old Hall at the National finals at the Olympic pool in June.

Well done to you all!

Year 6
