Athletics

Recently, our Wrekin athletics teams took part in the Shropshire Knockout Cup Final at Oakengates. The Lancaster Girls team finished in a creditable 3rd place.  Several athletes represented Shropshire in the Mason Trophy at Stoke. Sydney now ranks 3rd and 4th in the West Midlands for Hurdles and High Jump.  On Wednesday, The Lancaster Girls Year 8 team were once again in dominant form on the track, winning the majority of races.

Tennis

The U15 Girls played some excellent tennis and beat Oswestry in all their matches. The U15 boys didn’t fare as well as the girls losing out to Oswestry but they played some excellent tennis. It was a mixed result for the U13 boys as they narrowly lost out to Oswestry but Hugo played superbly, winning his matches.

Cricket

On Tuesday the U14’s narrowly lost out to Shrewsbury school in the county cup semi finals. Fin struck an outstanding 72.

On Wednesday 7 teams were in action.  The pick of the matches was the 1st xi against Kent high street Perth. Matthew and Alex were the pick of the players. The U12s had a sensational win against QMGS Walsall. Sam was the pick of the players.

On Thursday and Friday, 32 teams played in the wrekin 6 aside comp. Thank you to everyone involved, a terrific two days.

Sundays fixtures were superb with the U15s losing to a strong OWA team but the 1st XI won a nail biter. Toby bowling a clutch over to win by 4 runs. 

Another exciting and busy week lies ahead.
