Sports Report

Last week, an array of sports continued to produce some excellent results.

Netball

The U16 team had a convincing win over Newport Girls.  The U13s lost out to a strong Sandbach team in the National Cup. 

The 1st team took part in the Worcester University Tournament on exeat Saturday, facing club teams and the Worcester University 1st team.  There were some great results, with Ella being named as Wrekin’s Player of the Tournament.

Rugby

In the National Cup this week with two away draws and two wins. The U15s juggernaut team rolled into Oswestry after scoring 65 unanswered points in 40 minutes!
The 1st team battled through a wet afternoon to a 3-0 win at Shrewsbury. Whilst the performance deserved more, the result was a fair win.

Hockey

In hockey this week, the U14 girls qualified for the Shropshire Plate final!  

The girls U18s finished runners up in the 30th anniversary of the Wrekin VIIs tournament with Saffron putting in a stunning performance throughout to score four of Wrekin’s five goals.

At the U18s County finals, Ella and Abi were particularly impressive as the team finished runners up and now progress to the Midlands regional rounds! 

On Saturday, the boys U18s played against Stafford hockey club, winning a hard fought victory, 4-1

Football

The U16 team had a convincing win in the ESFA Cup Round vs Sir Thomas Boughey Academy, scoring seven goals.

Badminton

The 1st team put up a good fight against Ellesmere College on Wednesday but unfortunately lost out in a closely fought match.
