Under 11 and Under 10 Netball Festival vs Birchfield at Old Hall

Our Year 5 and 6 girls took part in a netball festival against Birchfield School. We had four teams representing Old Hall and it was fantastic to see the teamwork, sportsmanship and ultimately the enjoyment from all girls from both schools throughout the afternoon.

Some of the patterns of play, defensive work and turnovers were really impressive from all teams and there were plenty of goals throughout the matches! A huge well done to all the girls who represented the school and thank you to the staff and supporters.

Under 11 Hockey team – Regional finals

After qualifying from the county rounds our Under 11 girls’ hockey team was selected to represent Shropshire at the regional finals. After an exciting journey full of Disney and Matilda we were very much up for some exciting hockey games!

Throughout the afternoon we played six matches and really held our own against some very strong opposition including Repton, Bromsgrove and Loughborough schools. The girls scored six goals across the tournament and worked so hard for each other on and off the ball; their work rate, game understanding and set piece performances were some of the best we have seen all season.

Old Hall won two matches comfortably, had two 1-0 losses in the last minutes of the game and lost to Bromsgrove 2-0 in a game that could have gone either way! We are very proud of the girls’ performances and their outstanding journey of hockey throughout the season, well done all and thank you to our travelling spectators!

Under 11 Girls Football

On Wednesday 22nd March our U11 girls travelled away to Terra Nova School to compete in our very first girls’ football game! It was an exciting journey and the girls were really looking forward to getting on the pitch and giving it their all. All of the girls worked so hard for each other and it was great to see the development of skills and game understanding as the match played out. OH broke down play well and made some excellent clearances out the back, we certainly had our chances but couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net on this occasion!

A big well done to all the girls and thank you to the staff and supporters.

Lower School Swimming Festival

We started off with our Reception swim that highlighted some fantastic leg kicks, floatation shapes and front and back stroke development; very well done to all!

Our Year 1 and 2 children were able to showcase their front crawl and backstroke in their races and we finished off with a very exciting medal race.

All the points were collected by our parent volunteers and the final results were:

1st- Rabbits

2nd- Badgers

3rd- Foxes

4th- Squirrels

Congratulations also to our medal race winners.

It really was a lovely afternoon, the pupils swam so well and it was great to hear them cheering for their peers in both their Houses and in other Houses too!

Very well done to all and a big thank you to staff, parents who came to support and to those that volunteered to help.
